About our Founder
When mandatory-use AI software at her university failed to detect her face due to her darker skin tone, Robin turned that moment into a lifelong mission: challenging discriminatory technology and advocating for a fair, equitable, and inclusive technological space for all.
Robin is a respected AI and digital rights expert and regularly writes and consults on these topics. Her work has been featured in Wired, Al Jazeera, and TEDxAmsterdam. She has been awarded the following recognitions for her work, among others: ScienceGuide Toplist 2023, Bits of Freedom Felipe Roderiquez Award 2024, TopFem Gen Award 2024.
Outside of her commitment to robinAIsha Consultancy she is closely involved with the Racism and Technology Center, bridging the gap between anti-racism and technology.
Robin Aïsha Pocornie (1996) was born and raised in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Over the years, she lived, studied, and worked in Costa Rica, United States, Australia, and the Netherlands. She currently resides in Amsterdam with her cat Shaquille.
